Trout Fishing Tips 255
The first thing to keep in mind when it comes to trout fishing is that the lighter your fishing gear, the better off you’ll be. I personally use only ultra light gear and line, which means I don’t use fishing line heavier than four pound test for trout fishing. Six pound test is tolerable, but anything heavier than six pound test is out of the question. Obviously I personally use ultra light weight rods and reels, and anything heavier than light action, again would be complete overkill. When trout fishing you want to employ as light of fishing gear as is possible. And if you think that four pound test is too light, consider this: I regularly catch trout twenty inches and larger on four pound test and my mentor caught all of his mounted trout on four pound test!
It doesn’t matter whether you want to do top water fly fishing or deep water lake fishing, I am sure you will find trout fishing in Alaskan rivers and lakes quite enjoyable.
