Dangerous airborne contaminants are fatal to birds

People in the past used canaries in mine shafts to warn them of gas accumulation. Most cleaners produce dangerous airborne contaminants and are fatal to birds. The same can happen with strong cooking odors or smoke inside the birds cages. Fume can also kill birds.
Even a small pool of water can be dangerous for birds as they can drown in it. On the other hand narrow glasses full of very hot water are also risky as birds dont expect that there can be hot water. The uncovered toilet bowl is another risk of birds injuries. Avoid perfumes and hair spray if your bird likes water play or even enjoys showers with you.
